Cleantech start-up PHYSEE finalist in Postcode Lottery Green Challenge

Delft, September 14, 2016 - This afternoon PHYSEE a start-up companie from Delft will pitch their 'green' business plan to a jury, press and a wide audience along with four others start-ups. The winner gets 500,000 EUR to help bring her or his plan to market. The runner-up will receive 200,000 EUR.  

The Postcode Lottery Green Challenge is the largest annual and international green business plan competition. The tenth edition of the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge will take place in the Westergasfabriek  in Amsterdam under the watchful eye of Queen Maxima.

Leading up to September 14
On July 20, the organization announced a shortlist of 25 sustainable startups. A preliminary jury of experts assessed the 292 sustainability business plan submissions sent in from 61 countries. The 25 nominees are from the Netherlands, the USA, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Israel, India and Rwanda. With 10 nominees, the Netherlands has the strongest representation, followed by the USA with five start-ups, the UK with four and Sweden with two nominees. The other four countries are represented by one start-up each.

One of the finalists is PHYSEE. A spin-off from TU Delft developing PowerWindows. PowerWindows are patented and transparent double-paned windows that convert light into electricity. The other finalists are Green City Solutions (DE) Home Biogas (IL) Ioniqa Technologies (NL) and (UK / KN)
