HOMIE wants to significantly reduce the environmental impact of domestic appliances, by moving from “ownership” to “Pay-Per-Use”.
HOMIE is an innovative start-up that operates at the forefront of the circular economy by proposing, developing and testing new circular business models with consumers that reduce our need for ‘stuff’ and helps us reduce our environmental impact in the home significantly by moving away from ownership to a Pay-Per-Use service model. This model stimulates manufacturers to produce more durable and sustainable appliances whilst also nudging customers towards the more sustainable use of these appliances.
HOMIE offers high-quality washing machines for free and customers only pay a small fee every time they actually run a wash, with lower prices for programmes that use less energy. And installation and maintenance are taken care of by HOMIE for free.
Washing machines are just the start, and HOMIE aims to roll out its vision of “less stuff, more happiness” to all kinds of appliances in the home through an innovative platform approach.
